The 22nd annual volume of Scotiabank’s prestigious series of annual photography monographs—Living at the Edge: Canada’s Northwest Coast, by Lonnie Wishart—was released at a gala event at the Museum of Northern BC on November 19, 2015

The finely crafted art volumes of the Scotiabank series have featured many North American regions, provinces and states, and countries as diverse as Britain, West Africa and Indonesia. Books from the Scotiabank series are in the collection of libraries such as the National Library of Canada, the National Gallery of Canada, the Harry Ransom Collection at the University of Texas, the Arizona State University, and many other collections.

“I’m very pleased that in choosing to feature my work, Scotiabank has allowed me to spotlight Prince Rupert and the Northwest Coast,” Lonnie said. “Because of the photographers chosen over the years, only three cities have ever been featured in the series—Toronto, Beijing, and Prince Rupert. I’m just as pleased by that as I am by the personal honour, because many people in this community have played a huge role in getting me to where I need to be to create my photographs.”

Living at the Edge was circulated worldwide by Scotiabank.

Lonnie’s work has been widely published and exhibited across North America. She likes to describe her business as “client-friendly and service-oriented”—which means that she likes to have a lot of fun working, come in on budget and on deadline, and exceed every client’s photography and videography expectations
